A fabulous figural ring from?the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era!?Crafted in vibrant 14kt yellow gold, this charming piece adorns a vibrant amethyst at the center of fantastic carved design. The stone is prong set and?displays a?vivid purple hue with facets that catch the light beautifully with every turn. Decorating each shoulder is an impish carved devil's face embellished with 3-dimensional detail. The smiling devil displays realistic features including a pointed?goatee, protruding nose,?textured hair, two beady eyes, and each horn also acts as a prong to hold the amethyst, a fabulous?detail! The end of each goatee trails into a smoothly polished band that graduates?slightly towards the back, and stamped inside of the shank is a "14K" gold purity mark and a faded set of engraved initials.?A wonderful figural ring, it would make a wickedly fun addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring currently has two sizing beads inside the shank, and fits a finger size ranging?between 8.5 to 9,?but could easily be resized if desired. The centerpiece?rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The band measures 3mm at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there?is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The amethyst is intact and securely set.
